Ipe is a dense, beautiful premium natural wood used for decking that is resistant to UV degradation, pests and rot. This wood comes from the Tabebuia tree and has fine grain and rich color. To encourage responsible and renewable forestry practices, Everlasting Hardwoods buys their Ipe from South America.
The 1" x 4" Ipe decking boards are surfaced on four sides with eased corners which gives these boards a narrow appearance. This appearance is commonly found in the North East. When it is used in combination with the 1" x 6" decking boards, it gives a two width appearance. These 3/4" boards provide a lighter weight to your deck for an extravegant ending result.
If you choose to keep the rich natural color of Ipe, you may apply a penetrating oil to maintain it. Without the oil, weather will naturally change the color to a beautiful warm silver-grey patina. The choice all depends on your personal preference.
Everlasting Hardwoods has representatives that are available to assist you in choosing the most efficient and effective material for your personal design. They will recommend the best ways to install and maintain your Ipe deck.
From the high quality natural wood to the exceptional customer service, Everlasting Hardwoods will help you bring your dream deck to life with ease, all while maintaining the beauty and durability.
