The premium natural hardwood in these Ipe 1" x 6" boards is perfectly finished on all four sides and has smoothed corners, whereas regular pine plank wood may only be reasonably smoothed and have raw edges on the ends.
Regular planking may be treated against pest infestation, but because of the hard density of the hardwood from Everlasing, the boards are naturally resistant. This heavy dense hardwood is also resistant to decay, sun fading, and weathering, unlike ordinary plank boards.
If you use Ipe 1" x 6" boards in conjunction with Ipe 1"x 4"s, the result will be a perfectly formed pattern that gives the illusion of being two widths wide.
These boards are 3/4" x 5 1/2" finished hardwood. Projects constructed with these boards will have a much lighter weight than ordinary pine planking.
The fine grain and rich color of Ipe 1"x 6" hardwood boards adds beauty to any building project, whether it's a bridge, boardwalk, boat dock, deck or fence.
The pricing is very reasonable for such an exceptional product. Four to seven foot boards are $2.20 per linear foot. Eight to eleven foot boards retail for $2.43 per linear foot, and twelve to twenty foot boards are $2.80 per linear foot.
Pergolas and other enclosed structures built with this hardwood have proven to hold up against fierce weather and wind.
The Ipe 1" x 6" boards come with the ends pre-sealed in a wax emulsion to preserve the wood, unlike ordinary boards which have raw ends.
