When a more refined top rail suits your rail design needs, the 2 x 4 Ipe Railing Board combines classic railing detail with environmentally-friendly Ipe wood. This makes for a handrail finish that never needs painting, and contains no preservative chemicals which can irritate skin. Used where a more traditional appearance is wanted, the 2 x 4 Ipe Railing Board is the perfect choice for dock railing, too. Ipe wood has a natural imperviousness to water, making it a natural choice for near water applications.
With its keyed channel and slim measurement, the 2 x 4 Ipe Railing Board provides a great finish for trimming out privacy panels and fencing. Available in lengths of 10 and 14' , long spans between supporting posts can provide a continuous surface without butt-ends or seams. The useful key accepts both square and turned railing posts, as well as offering the structural strength and versatility to incorporate lightweight solid panels, framed panels, wide rail upright designs and even more complex slatted designs.
For balance and beauty, the 2 x 4 Ipe Railing Board is a natural fit for small gazebos, too. At 1½ by 3½ inches net size, the lighter look and feel of this smaller railing board wont overwhelm small spaces.
